Frequently Asked Questions
Can we park early and walk into town for lunch/dinner?
No. Our parking lot opens 1 hour before each performance, which does not leave you enough time to have a meal in town and get back in time for the show.
Do you serve food?
No. Our concessions only serve popcorn, packaged candy, and sweet/savory snacks.
Do you have handicapped parking?
Yes, though it is a brief walk from the handicapped lot to the main entrance. As such, we encourage dropoffs and pickups for guests with mobility issues.
Do you have seating for wheelchairs, walkers, and rollators?
Yes, you can see the wheelchair seating in Rows I and Y with the universal icons on our seat map. For any guests with mobility issues, please call our Box Office (207.646.5511, 10a-5p) and our team will be happy to find you seats to best meet your needs. In addition, upon arrival in the theater, our volunteers will help you get seated, store your mobility devices, and bring them to you at the start of intermission, and at the end of the performance.
Is The Playhouse air conditioned in the Summer and heated in the Fall?
Yes, we set a standard comfortable temperature within the theater all season long, though we recommend you bring a sweater if you are sensitive to air conditioning.
When does the Performance End? I need to make lunch/dinner reservations.
Every production has a different running time which is posted on the show page after we conclude rehearsals and begin previews. In the meantime, we recommend the average running time of 2 hours and 30 minutes including curtain speech and intermission. It then takes approximately 10-15 minutes for the parking lot to empty after the show.
